Golf Ireland – Itinerary


 

Day 1 – Depart USA direct to Shannon, Ireland

Day 2 – Arrival at Shannon International – Transfer to Enniscrone — No Golf Scheduled

Arrive Shannon. You will be met by your driverguide  and travel through  the market town of Ennis to see the majestic cliffs of Moher and perhaps refreshments at the Cliffs Gift & Coffee Shop. This evening enjoy your welcome dinner and get aquinted with new found friends this evening. Overnight Diamond Coast Hotel. (D)

Day 3 – Golf at Carne Links Golf Club

After your full Irish breakfast this morning, you head to Belmullet. the most exposed, and probably the most isolated course in the country, is also one of the best.  Carne Links- also called Belmullet , for that is the main town on the peninsula known as the Mullet, was the last great creation of Eddie Hackett, Ireland’s most notable 20th-century designer.  Not only is it a supreme test and, for some, simply too tough a test, but it manages to encapsulate all that is good about golfing in Ireland. Day 4 – Golf at Enniscrone Links Golf Course

Morning golf at the wonderful links course of Enniscrone , another one of the many magical places on Ireland’s west coast that puts golf in perspective, for a while at least.  With awesome views over the Moy estuary and known for its excellent salmon fishing, and exquisitely beautiful Killala Bay.  Afternoon travel south to Ennis,  enjoying many interesting stories of Ireland’s past and present  from your driverguide.  Perhaps this evening you may want to check out many of the local restaurants and pubs in either the town of Doolin, world known for its great singing pubs or Ennis.  Overnight Old Ground Hotel. Day 5 – Golf at Lahinch Old Links Golf Course

Today, your driver will take you over to Lahinch, a coastal town in north Clare and home of the world famous Lahinch  Old Links Golf course. Lahinch, with its towering sand dunes, undulating fairways, offers a stern test of golf  and the notorious “Klondyke” par 5 has a blind shot to the green. Later, you head south into the “Kingdom” of  Kerry and onward via the famous town of Tralee before arriving at the Great Southern Hotel, Killarney, your home for the next four nights.  Overnight at The Great Southern Hotel. Day 6 – Golf at Dooks Golf Club

A short drive today via Killorglin, home to the famous Puck Fair, to Dooks Golf Club, one of  the five oldest courses in Ireland.  The superb seaside setting with  breathtaking views of Dingle makes  this a truly traditional golf links experience of a lifetime.  Remainder of the day is yours, take time to savour the heritage of Ireland in between analysing the missed putts or that unforgettable hole in one! Overnight at The Great Southern Hotel. (B)

Day 7 – Golf at Ballybunion Golf Links Club

Today is another sensational day for the golfer.  Ballybunion Old course- is one of the finest Links courses in the world! Challenge the corner of the cemetery on the first, and give new meaning to “do or die.” Work your way out to the sea and the roller-coaster 11th, tumbling 3 tiers along the cliffs,  is nothing less than the finest hole on earth.  Overnight at The Great Southern Hotel. Day 8 – Golf at Killarney’s Killeen Golf Club

The three courses at Killarney are amongst the most scenically appointed in the world, with great golf and beauty in equal measure.  The flagship  Killeen Course is set on the three lakes of Killarney, with the majestic tops of MacGillicuddy’s Reeks an inspirational backdrop., is truly a superb championship course.  Tonight enjoy a get together for your farewell dinner at the hotel. Overnight at the Great Southern Hotel.  (B & D)

Day 9 – Airport Transfer – Return Home To USA

After breakfast, it is farewell to Killarney as you are transferred to airport for return flight home. (B)
